Marc Johnigan

Friends,

On behalf of PTACC, Ric and I share in the deep sadness many of us are feeling with the loss of our friend, colleague, and PTACC National Leadership Council member, Mr. Marc Johnigan of Twin Cities Recovery.

PTACC was introduced to Marc through our mutual friend and colleague, Dan Meloy. Dan’s heartfelt note is below.

Anyone that reads Marc’s story and took the time to hear his journey, knows how the loss of his children to violence didn’t slow him down. He kept on working to fulfill the huge vision he had for Minneapolis and Dayton. He worked hard to positively impact people.

From our first call in 2019 he was willing to take the leap and work alongside “someone like me, the police.” In meetings, he stood up for me when others questioned why he was working with law enforcement.

Through our work together, I truly heard his message about race and how persons of color were not part of any research discussions on the impact of the opioid crisis in America. I was proud to help Marc as he worked to change these discussions. He was my friend…..  we have lost an innovator and a really genuine human being.

Although we are in a state of mourning, we will continue to honor Marc’s legacy by upholding his mission to offer assistance and support through holistic wellness to those living with an addiction. We invite you to do the same in support of our fellow PTACC’er.
